High school transcript
ACT and/or SAT scores, if graduation has been within the last five years
Official college transcript from each college attended; if applicant has completed less than 24 hours, he/she must also submit a high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores and must be eligible to return to the institution from which he/she last attended
Measles immunization record if born after 1/57
Selective Service Registration verification
Admission Standards:
At least a 2.0 high school GPA and an ACT* composite score of 18 or at least a 3.0 high school GPA, regardless of ACT composite score; SAT I (before January 2016) composite score of 870 and SAT II (after January 2016) composite score of 960
Required Curricular Units:
English – Four units, including courses in grammar, composition, and literature
Social Studies – Three units, including U.S. history
Mathematics – Four units (three units must be algebra I and higher)
Science – Three units; all courses to be college preparatory lab science, preferably including units from biology, chemistry, and physics

Foreign Language – Two units (two courses of the same foreign language)
*SAT I scores may be substituted for ACT composite scores. SAT I scores will be converted to ACT equivalents

The Department of Science and Mathematics is housed within the Glenville State College Science Hall. Utilizing state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, students receive pre-professional training in areas related to medicine, pharmacy, teaching, dentistry, veterinary medicine, exercise science, physical therapy, medical technology, radiology, environment science, wildlife biology, and more.
The Robert F. Kidd Library at Glenville State College is a one stop shop for academic research. In addition to traditional library services like checking out books, computer access, and photocopying, the RFK Library also provides students with access to multiple research databases, various digital resources, and more. The Library also houses the Glenville State College Archives, a treasure-trove of campus and regional history.
Operating under the area of Student Life at Glenville State College, Student Activities provides for recreational and extracurricular opportunities for students. These include supporting and sponsoring various student organizations, intramural sports, eSports, and assorted activities and events. Students can also take part in High Adventure programs, where students explore the “Wild and Wonderful” side of the Mountain State through kayaking, skiing, hiking, and more.
Dining Services at Glenville State College provides options to fit any student or schedule. With buffet-style meals at Mollohan’s Restaurant, you can take time to enjoy a salad, pizza, a classic cheeseburger with fries, or the entrée of the day. The Rusty Musket provides grab-and-go meal options, coffee, and multiple convenience items. Meal plans for on-campus students can be customized to fit various eating habits or schedules. Options for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions are also available.
The Registrar’s Office is located in the Heflin Administration Building. This office is the institution’s official recorder and keeper of student records. Through the Registrar’s Office, students can request transcripts, change their major, request to carry extra credit hours, and more.
The Glenville State College experience extends beyond graduation. Glenville State graduates become part of something bigger and join a family of over 16,500 other alumni worldwide who are leaders and innovators. GSC alumni stay connected to their alma mater through various alumni chapters throughout the United States, events, generous donations to the institution, and more.
The Academic Success Center at Glenville State College is designed to enhance the academic and overall development of all students. Conveniently located on the third floor of the Robert F. Kidd Library, the Center provides access to Academic Advising and Counseling, Academic Success Seminars, ADA Accommodations, Career Planning, New Student Orientation, Hidden Promise Scholars Program, Tutoring, and Student Veteran Support Services.
The Dora Heflin Garden is situated on Clark Hall Lawn and was built as a monument to Mrs. Heflin and the other spouses of Glenville State College presidents. Mrs. Heflin served as GSC’s First Lady for over 17 years, and she and her husband remained supportive of the College throughout their lives. The garden and fountain were completed in 2002.
Glenville State College is a member of the Mountain East Conference and NCAA Division II sports. Glenville State student-athletes compete on a number of teams, including baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, football, wrestling, golf, track and field, cross country, boxing, acrobatics and tumbling, soccer, and cheerleading.
The Department of Criminal Justice prepares students to go directly from the classroom and into the field of their choosing. CJ students process mock crime scenes at GSC’s crime scene house, work with some of the same equipment and labs for training that members of state and local police use, and arrange an internship in the setting of their choosing to develop networks and further their professional experiences. Majors are available in Administration of Justice and Field Forensics and the degree can be earned 100% online or via traditional in-person course delivery.
